Jason Smith

Mr. Smith is responsible for maintenance and improvement of the building and contents at the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute. This includes coordinating with IBA on all gantry equipment upgrades and working with outside contractors as needed for building upgrades and repairs. He is responsible for security and housekeeping, as well as monitoring and maintaining all the systems in the building. This includes the oxygen and vacuum loops and the chill and hot water loops that cool the cyclotron, as well as electrical and plumbing.

Tim Buist

Mr. Buist is responsible for ensuring each department smoothly interfaces with the others to provide accurate patient care. This includes working with physics and dosimetry on any technical issues they may have. He provides guidance on the feasibility of new system installations and their support. He designed the entire IT infrastructure for the UF Health Proton Therapy Institute and has been the manager of the department since the organization began. He has worked in Oncology IT Management for over 20 years.
