UF Health Proton Therapy Institute (UFHPTI), located in Jacksonville, Florida, has two openings for a Full Time Oncology Treatment Coordinator (OTC) within our Adult Nursing Department. This individual will be responsible for providing a wide variety of administrative and support services to the Adult Nursing Department and UFHPTI Patient Population prior to and during radiation therapy treatment. Among those services will be referrals for outside appointments and services, rescheduling patients, explaining different appointments, and relaying important information in a way that patients can understand. OTC’s will serve as liaison between the Patient Intake department and RN Case Managers for incoming and on treatment patients. OTC will work directly with assigned nursing teams and Physicians to assist with non-RN functions such as rescheduling appointments and triaging phone calls to RN’s. OTC’s will act as a highly effective resource to patients, providers, and internal and external staff.

Qualified candidates should be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills, critical thinking, and initiative. Must be detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize tasks and organize workflow. Must be a self starter who can work independently at times. Must be able to handle busy or stressful situations in a professional, customer service focused manner. Must be able to work in a team environment with a proven track record of such. Excellent computer skills are a must. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Two years of prior experience working in a healthcare facility preferred.
